Delicately hand-carved Corinthian columns and fretwork embellish this magnificent Claro walnut desk. The columns open with the doors to reveal a white oak carcase.

The unique canted corners and design were inspired by a Library Table from Thomas Chippendale’s The Gentleman & Cabinet-maker’s Director, originally printed in 1762.

The top is inset with hand-tooled leather and 23-karat gold leaf border by renowned artisan Billy Mulkey of Antique Leathers USA. Mulkey follows a centuries-old practice, and has crafted fine leather surfaces for distinguished clients all over the world.

The desk is finished with shellac and wax.

Awarded Second Place in the Traditional Furniture category, 2008 Design in Wood competition – the largest juried competition for woodworking in the US.
