Built as an anniversary gift for his wife, John was romantically inspired building this jewelry box. Constructed of cherry and claro walnut, this jewelry box features hand-cut sliding dovetails and book-matched veneers. The moldings are hand-carved, as are the four ogee feet. John modeled the jewelry box on an early English full-size chest of drawers. The three drawers slide out equally from both sides, making the piece truly unique. Finished with six coats of shellac, and two coats of light wax.
